The Nittany Lions enter with high expectations, returning key starters from last season, including quarterback Drew Allar and running backs Kaytron Allen and Nicholas Singleton. They also got back star edge rusher Dani Dennis-Sutton.
Oregon is looking to build on its 13-1 season under fourth-year head coach Dan Lanning. The Ducks’ offense, led by quarterback Dante Moore and receivers Dakorien Moore and Malik Benson, ranks among the nation’s top 10, averaging 50.8 points per game.
The Penn State crowd is expected to be fired up for a night kickoff and the annual White Out game.

Because of how quickly the importance of certain games and matchups change throughout a given season, this structure makes sense for the show. Last week, the show traveled to Miami for the Hurricanes’ in-state showdown against the Florida Gators, as the slate didn’t have too many marquee matchups on it.
Where the show is headed is usually announced on Sunday or Monday leading up to the Saturday matchup.
While the show typically travels to one of the marquee matchups of the week, it’s also gone to smaller schools like James Madison and North Dakota State in the past.

Who is the guest picker on ‘College GameDay’ for Week 3?
The guest picker for Saturday morning on “College GameDay” will be a Penn State legend, former linebacker LaVar Arrington.
Arrington played for the Nittany Lions from 1997-99, winning the Chuck Bednarik Award and Butkus Award in 1999 while finishing ninth in Heisman Trophy voting. The season prior, Arrington was the co-Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year; he left Penn State with 173 tackles, 39 tackles for loss, 19 sacks and three interceptions during his career, before he was selected second overall in the 2000 NFL Draft.
