Things are not slowing down at the Rajasthan Royals (RR) as another coach has parted ways with the franchise amid the Sanju Samson drama and after the exit of the head coach, Rahul Dravid.

According to a recent report in Sportstar, the Rajasthan Royals (RR) have decided to part ways with Dishant Yagnik, who is one of the longest-serving coaching staff members of the franchise.

First, the head coach, Rahul Dravid, left the franchise after just one year in the job. Notably, he joined the team after leading India to the T20 World Cup 2024 triumph, and expectations were high from him, but the Rajasthan Royals finished in ninth spot on the points table with just four wins in 14 matches.

Rajasthan Royals tried to continue their relationship with Rahul Dravid after removing him as the head coach and offered him a broader strategic role, but he chose not to accept it.

Then, the Rajasthan Royals Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Jake Lush McCrum parted ways with the franchise. He joined Rajasthan Royals (RR) in November 2017 as General Manager, and after spending some time with the franchise, he was promoted to Chief Operating Officer in July 2019, before becoming the Chief Executive Officer in July 2021.

And all this happened amid the reports suggesting that the Kerala wicketkeeper-batsman and skipper of the team, Sanju Samson, has requested his release from the franchise due to some dispute.

Dishant Yagnik QUITS Rajasthan Royals

On Saturday, September 27, a report from Sportstar confirmed the departure of Dishant Yagnik, one of the longest-serving coaches of the Rajasthan Royals. He joined the team in 2018 as the fielding coach, and during his long stint, he worked extensively with the Indian and overseas players.

Amid a lot of departures, batting coach Vikram Rathour and bowling coach Shane Bond are likely to stay at Rajasthan Royals, as per the same report.

Sanju Samson to be seen in action in the Asia Cup final

The RR and Kerala superstar Sanju Samson has been the first-choice wicketkeeper-batsman for India in the Asia Cup 2025 and has been batting in the middle-order. So far, he has registered scores of 56, 13, and 39 and would be looking to make contributions in the final against Pakistan.

Speaking ahead of the match, former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan claimed that playing an intense game against Sri Lanka that entered the super over would help India in the summit clash against arch-rivals Pakistan.

“My opinion is that the tight match against Sri Lanka, which they eventually won in the Super Over, is good for India. Sometimes when you play very good cricket, you sometimes become a little slack. You think that everything is happening perfectly, you tend to think that you can take on everything. That confidence is necessary but if that confidence gives way to arrogance, that might be a problem. I am not saying that the Indian team is arrogant but that feeling does not take long to fester. The game is like that,” Pathan said on his YouTube channel.

“So India now suddenly sense that any team can play well at any given day just like Sri Lanka did on Friday. According to me, Sri Lanka was the No.2 team in the league stages. And they showed it here. The only team who has come close to India is Sri Lanka. If they didn’t make some mistakes, they would have also won the match. The game wouldn’t even have gone to the Super Over,” he added.
