Yankees infielder Jazz Chisholm Jr. abruptly departed Saturday’s game against the Orioles in the fifth inning after being hit on the left forearm by a pitch.
With the Yankees holding a 6-0 lead over the Orioles, Chisholm came to the plate with two on and two outs. He was plunked on the first pitch by Baltimore pitcher Grant Wolfram, a 96.8 mph sinker, and immediately headed to the dugout and subsequently the tunnel. José Caballero pinch-ran for Chisholm and stayed in the game at second base.
Initial X-rays were negative, and Chisholm will undergo a CT scan, the team said.
Chisholm, an All-Star for the second time in 2025, has hit .244 with a career-high 31 homers in 128 games this season.
