Jazz Chisholm Jr. leaves game after HBP on left arm

by

Yankees infielder abruptly departed Saturday’s game against the Orioles in the fifth inning after being hit on the left forearm by a pitch.

With the Yankees holding a 6-0 lead over the Orioles, Chisholm came to the plate with two on and two outs. He was plunked on the first pitch by Baltimore pitcher Grant Wolfram, a 96.8 mph sinker, and immediately headed to the dugout and subsequently the tunnel. José Caballero pinch-ran for Chisholm and stayed in the game at second base.

Initial X-rays were negative, and Chisholm will undergo a CT scan, the team said.

Chisholm, an All-Star for the second time in 2025, has hit .244 with a career-high 31 homers in 128 games this season.
