Tom Nolan pushed his current UFC win streak to four earlier tonight (Sat., Sept. 27, 2025) at UFC Perth LIVE on ESPN+ from inside RAC Arena in Perth, Australia, ending fellow lightweight Charlie Campbell with an exciting first-round submission (rear-naked choke).
This was a fun matchup that stood out to many UFC fans. Both Nolan and Campbell are game strikers who push forward and unload offense in volume. Nolan is a little more well-rounded with some slick grappling, but Campbell had a slight edge in the power punching department. Luckily for fight fans, this lightweight bout didn’t disappoint and offered a little bit of everything.
Each fighter scored solid punches in the early going, but it was Campbell who used hard leg kicks to hurt Nolan from range. Campbell was able laned some clean punches as well to bloody Nolan’s nose. Nolan was still hanging in the pocket, though, and connected on a nice front kick to the body and a clean punch that left Campbell on wobbly legs.
Nolan was able to follow that up with a nice takedown along the cage with one minute left in the first round. He quickly worked to the back and locked up the choke. Campbell had nothing left to do, but tap for the first time in his career.
