When Francisco Lindor connected for his 30th home run of the season on Thursday night against the Cubs at Wrigley Field, he made history.
The superstar shortstop, who already had 31 stolen bases, became the fifth player to join the 30-30 club in 2025 — setting a new record for the most players to achieve the feat in the same season.
One day later, Pete Crow-Armstrong made it six 30-30 players this year, belting his own 30th home run of the season to go along with his 35 stolen bases. The Cubs’ young star also hit his milestone homer at Wrigley, in Chicago’s series opener against the Cardinals. Crow-Armstrong is the first — and only — Cubs player to post a 30-30 season since Sammy Sosa, who had two 30-30 seasons in 1995 (36 homers, 34 steals) and 1993 (33 homers, 36 steals).
The list continued to grow on Saturday when Julio Rodríguez stole bases No. 29 and 30 to reach 30-30 for the second time in his career (also done in 2023). That made it a whopping seven players who joined the 30-30 club in 2025.
Prior to Lindor, PCA and Rodríguez reaching the 30-30 milestone, four other players had already done so in 2025: the D-backs’ Corbin Carroll (31 HR, 32 SB), the Yankees’ Jazz Chisholm Jr. (31 HR, 31 SB), the Guardians’ José Ramírez (30 HR, 41 SB) and Lindor’s teammate, Juan Soto (43 HR, 38 SB).
That makes 2025 the most prolific year for 30-30 performances in MLB history, ahead of the 1987, 1996, 1997, 2011 and 2023 seasons, which had four 30-30 players apiece.
Lindor’s 30-30 season was the second of his career — he also reached the mark with the Mets in 2023, when he had 31 home runs and 31 stolen bases. For Crow-Armstrong, it’s his first 30-30 season.
Lindor and Soto are also the third pair of teammates to have 30+ homers and 30+ steals in the same season, joining Howard Johnson and Darryl Strawberry of the Mets (1987) and Dante Bichette and Ellis Burks of the Rockies (1996).
