Tennessee is recruiting toward its 2027 basketball signing class.
Four-star combo guard LJ Smith will unofficially visit Tennessee on Oct. 11, according to Dushawn London of 247Sports. He will also visit Georgia and North Carolina.

The 6-foot-4, 180-pound prospect is from Oak Hill Academy in Mouth of Wilson, Virginia. Former Vol Ron Slay also played for Oak Hill Academy.
247Sports ranks Smith as the No. 2 combo guard in the class and No. 2 player in Virginia.
Memphis was the first school to offer him a scholarship on May 14, 2024. Other schools to offer Smith scholarships include Wichita State, Charlotte, West Virginia, Oklahoma State, Virginia Tech, Kansas, Radford, Tennessee State, Stetson, Hampton, Mississippi State, Texas A&M, Appalachian State and Indiana.
Tennessee does not have a commitment in its 2026 basketball recruiting class. The Vols have six commitments in their 2025 basketball recruiting class: forward DeWayne Brown, small forward Amari Evans, point guard Troy Henderson, forward Nate Ament, shooting guard Clarence Massamba and shooting guard Ethan Burg.
