The Southeastern Conference announced on Tuesday the location and dates for its 2026 SEC Kickoff media days. The event, which appears to be growing by the year, will take place in Tampa, Fla., at the end of July 2026. The event was held in Atlanta in 2025 at the College Football Hall of Fame.
The SEC Kickoff event is the largest media event in college football and serves as the unofficial kickoff to the college football season. The event provides college football media with an opportunity to meet the players and coaches who will highlight the season.

In 2025, SEC media was introduced to new Oklahoma Sooners starting quarterback John Mateer and defensive stars Robert Spears-Jennings and R Mason Thomas. Oklahoma’s representatives have been fantastic through four games in 2025. Michael Hawkins, Jr. starting at quarterback this week, could be a sign of who leads the way for the Sooners in 2026 at next year’s SEC Kickoff event.
