Damian Pinas closed out Dana White’s Contender Series 84 in spectacular fashion Tuesday with a first-round TKO of Vitor Costa.
The power of Pinas (8-1) was on display early in the middleweight contest at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. He badly dropped Costa (8-2) early on with a punch, then went in with a final closing blow, causing referee Herb Dean to wave it off at the 1:48 mark of Round 1.

Following his victory, Pinas said he wants to join the UFC hierarchy at 185 pounds.
“I’ve been training to come here,” Pinas said in his post-fight interview with Laura Sanko. “(Conor) McGregor has the left hand, I have the right hand. If I touch anybody, they will go down. Anybody.”
