Christopher Alvidrez made a loud statement for a UFC contract Tuesday with a dismantling performance against Eliezer Kubanza at Dana White’s Contender Series 84.
After an early feeling out process, a powerful right hand from Alvidrez (7-1) put Kubanza (7-1) on his back and intro scramble mode. He survived the initial flurry, and just as if it looked like he might survive and escape the round, Alvidrez connected with another hard shot that urged referee Herb Dean to step in at the 4:44 mark of Round 1.

After the fight, an elated Kubanza said he think she did enough to convince UFC CEO Dana White to offer him a contract to join the welterweight division.
