Catherine Greene has been hired as the director of women’s basketball for the ACC after spending the last six seasons on the Lady Vols basketball staff.
Greene stayed on as executive director of basketball operations and chief of staff when Tennessee coach Kim Caldwell was hired in April 2024. Now Caldwell will have to hire a new director of basketball operations before her second season begins Nov. 4.
Greene has been with the program since 2019, when she started as director of basketball operations. She was promoted to executive director of basketball operations and chief of staff going into the 2021-22 season.

In addition to overseeing overall logistics for the program, Greene also oversaw the managers and support staff and managed the program’s budget. She was also the point of contact for compliance, marketing and branding, alumni outreach and communication technology.
Maggie Stanley is Tennessee’s assistant director of basketball operations, along with being Caldwell’s special assistant. She was promoted to the position this spring after being a graduate assistant last season. Stanley was the director of basketball operations for Caldwell during her lone season at Marshall.
Greene spent the entirety of her career working at ACC schools before joining the Lady Vol staff.
Greene was the director of student-athlete enrichment at North Carolina women’s basketball from 2017-19. Prior to that, Greene spent five seasons on the Georgia Tech women’s basketball staff as director of basketball operations from 2012-17.

Greene graduated from North Carolina in 2008. She got her start with her alma mater in event management and operations for the Tar Heels from 2010-12.
