Missouri Hires Kate McCarville, Mohab Ishak as Assistant Coaches

The University of Missouri on Tuesday announced the hiring of Kate McCarville and Mohab Ishak as assistant coaches for swimming and diving, respectively.

McCarville will assist head coach Andrew Grevers. The native of Springfield, Missouri, has SEC experience as a member of the University of Tennessee, where she was part of Volunteer teams that finished fourth at NCAAs in 2024 and fifth in 2025. She was an honorable mention All-American in 2023 and a regular finalist at the SEC Championships, graduating last year with top-10 times in program history in the 500 free, 1,000 free and 1,650 free.

McCarville qualified for U.S. Olympic Trials in 2021 and 2024. She helped the Vols win the SEC women’s title in 2022 and finish as runner-up in 2023 and 2024.

McCarville graduated summa cum laude in 2025 with a double major in therapeutic recreation and psychology and a minor in leadership studies. She was one of Tennessee’s Torchbearer Award winners, the highest honor for the school’s undergraduate students, and was a member of the VOLeaders Academy for social change, where she volunteered on an international service trip to the Philippines.

Ishak will work with diving coach Kyle Bogner. The Olympian for Egypt at the 2016 and 2021 Olympics had an outstanding professional career, his 11th place performance at the Tokyo 3-meter the nation’s best diving finish since 1948.

Ishak has a degree from Helwan University in Cairo. He coached last season at Keiser University, leading the Seahawks to a pair of NAIA National titles, the men’s sixth and the women’s fourth in a row. Juan Gonzalez was the NAIA Diver of the Year, winning both springboard titles.
