Nebraska football quarterback Dylan Raiola offered his assessment on the program’s first loss against the Michigan Wolverines, as well as the team’s play in the red zone.
The Huskers currently sit with a 3-1 record, and Raiola is having a stellar season. He has recorded 1,137 passing yards, 11 touchdowns, and one interception.

He is coming off a game against the Wolverines that saw him tally 300 passing yards, three touchdowns, and one interception to go along with a 73.2 completion percentage.
The quarterback spoke to the media on Tuesday and noted that the red zone execution has not been up to standard. He also recognizes that nothing is going to come easy in Big Ten play, as transcribed by The Athletic’s Mitch Sherman.
“I knew we had a special team when right after the game we came back into the locker room and where it’s normally pointing fingers and he did this, you did that. We just kind of latched on and came together. From my point of view, it’s just making sure that guys aren’t making excuses for themselves and making sure that it’s our responsibility. No one is going to come hand us anything. We wouldn’t want it any other way.”
The Huskers rank eighth in the Big Ten with 14 touchdowns in the red zone this season. They ranked 17th in the Big Ten in red zone score percentage, according to CFBStats.com. Those numbers undoubtedly need to improve, especially as the games get tougher.
