Fitz Harding: Bristol Bears captain signs new contract

by

Bristol Bears captain Fitz Harding has signed a new contract fresh off his 100th appearance for the club.

The 26-year-old back row has played half of those games as skipper since joining Bristol from the University of Durham in 2020.

Harding scored the Bears’ first try of the new Prem season as they beat Leicester Tigers 42-24 at Ashton Gate on Sunday.

“It’s an honour to represent Bristol Bears and to lead such a special group of players,” he said.

“It was an easy decision for me to re-sign with a club and city I love and have built a special connection with during my five years here.

“This is a proud club with some lofty ambitions, and I’ll be doing everything in my power to help us achieve them and, ultimately, bring some silverware to the club.”

The club did not specify the length of Harding’s new contract.

Bristol are next in action against Saracens at StoneX Stadium on Saturday.
