Magic in Madrid

In 2022, Alcaraz became the youngest player to defeat both Nadal and Djokovic, and 1st to do so at the same clay-court event, beating the dynamic duo on back-to-back days en route to his 2nd ATP Masters 1000 title at 2022 Madrid.

Gunning for No.1

Alcaraz is 3-0 in major finals when the No.1 ranking is on the line (2022 US Open, 2023 Wimbledon, 2025 US Open).

US Open breakout

At Flushing Meadows in 2022, Alcaraz defeated Casper Ruud to become the youngest men’s champion at US Open since Sampras, 19, in 1990 and the youngest men’s singles champion at any Grand Slam event since Rafael Nadal, 19, at 2005 Roland Garros.

Also at the US Open in 2022, Alcaraz became the youngest and first teenage World No. 1 and year-end No. 1 in PIF ATP Rankings history (since 1973), completing his rise from No. 32 at the end of 2021 to No. 1 at age 19 in September 2022.

Triple (surface) threat

In Paris in 2024, Alcaraz won his first French Open title to become the youngest man to win a Grand Slam title on all three surfaces.

The following year Alcaraz defeated Sinner in the final, saving 3 championship points against the Italian to defend the title. It was the longest final in Roland-Garros history at five hours and 29 minutes.

With that win, 22-year-old Alcaraz became the youngest of the four men to win multiple Grand Slam titles on clay, grass and hard courts (also Djokovic, Nadal, Wilander). He also became the eighth player to win Roland-Garros titles in back to back seasons, and the first since Nadal in 2020.

Dominance in Slam Finals

Alcaraz became the second man in tennis history to win his first five major finals (second only to Roger Federer) with that win in Paris, and owns a 6-1 in Grand Slam finals overall.

Alcaraz is the second youngest player to ever hold six major titles, older only than Bjorn Borg. He won 24 wins at the majors in 2025, tying Rafael Nadal (2008) for most wins for ATP players age 22 and under at the majors in a single season.

Decisive in deciders

Alcaraz is 14-1 lifetime in deciding sets played in best-of-five matches.

Stunning at the Slams

Alcaraz is 84-13 lifetime at the majors. At.866 (84-13), Alcaraz jumped over Federer’s .860 (369-60). He is still behind Nadal’s .877 (314-44) and Djokovic’s .878 (397-55).

Consistent everywhere

Alcaraz is 24-7 overall in ATP Finals.

The Spaniard is an 8-time ATP Masters 1000 champion (8-1 in finals, and 82-23 overall, which is the third highest winning percentage, behind only Djokovic and Nadal, as of October 2, 2025).
