WFM Anna Cramling is about to go around the world in four boards in the next episode of Kids vs. Stars! The popular streamer from Sweden will take on four kids from different continents in a clock simul on October 6, starting at 12 p.m. ET / 18:00 CEST / 9:30 p.m. IST.
Kids vs. Stars is Chess.com’s series where we invite talented kids to challenge established chess stars. It’s your chance to get a first-hand look at what the future holds for chess—and be inspired by the extraordinary talent of the world’s most brilliant kids!
In this episode, Anna Cramling will be in the hot seat as she tries to survive against the kids. To represent the kids, we’ve invited players from various parts of the world to demonstrate that talent can be found everywhere!
Representing the Kids are Zac Chua from Canada, a Silver Knights student; Kayal Vijay from England, who’s a part of the Chess in Schools and Communities organization; WCM Fady Heaven from Egypt, an Adly Chess student and the African Under 12 Girls champion; and Basil Asalman from Saudi Arabia, a TikTok creator.
The format remains the same as the last episode, when GM David Howell prevailed over a team of prodigies. Anna will be facing the four kids at the same time, with her clock running normally on all boards. The kids will play with a 15+15 time control, while Anna will get 65+15. The first team to score 2.5 points will win the event.
This matchup might be the toughest yet for the Stars, as the kids are the closest in rating to their rival. Can the kids finally defeat their older opposition to bring home their first match victory in the simul format?
Fans can enjoy the action by tuning in to Chess.com’s official broadcast on YouTube and Twitch. FM Mike Klein and GM Arturs Neiksans will once more team up to host the show and provide expert commentary on the games.
Those rooting for Anna will also have the chance to enjoy her stream, where she’ll be broadcasting her own point of view as she faces the kids.
