Prochazka (31-5-1 MMA, 5-2 UFC) will look to get one step closer to another title shot, while bucking his recent trend of trading wins and losses over his past four outings. In January, the former champion defeated another former champ, Jamahal Hill, with a Performance of the Night-earning stoppage. Prior to that, Prochazka came up short in a title bid in a rematch against then-champion Alex Pereira. The 32-year-old has not won back-to-back bouts since his 13-fight winning streak was stopped by Pereira in their first meeting in November 2023. … Rountree Jr. (14-6 MMA, 10-6 UFC) is also coming off a victory against Hill, which came in the main event of the promotion’s first trip to Azerbaijan. In the fight prior, he was stopped by Pereira in his first title shot, which came after a five-fight winning streak that stretched back to 2021.

Serving as a solid action fight at light heavyweight is a showdown between Jiri Prochazka and Khalil Rountree Jr.
In what has all the potential for a chaotic mess, this might be my favorite offering on the entire card.
From Prochazka’s wild and reckless sensibilities to Rountree Jr.’s ultra-violent kicks and counters, you can argue that these two were destined to fight each other (something I’m sure Prochazka full-throatedly agrees with).
Although I can see Prochazka building momentum down the stretch, it’s hard to ignore the former champion’s defensive holes and the subsequent damage he tends to sustain.
For that reason, I’ll side with Rountree Jr. to find an opening to put Prochazka away by Round 2.
