Israeli guard Omer Hamama has signed a grant-in-aid agreement to join the Kent State University men’s basketball team for the 2025-26 season.
Hamama is a non-traditional freshman who comes to the Golden Flashes after playing professionally in Israel. He was with Migdal HaEmek of the National League and Hapoel Afula of the topflight Winners League during the 2024-25 season.

“When we came back to campus this fall, we saw a real need for help in the backcourt and were fortunate that through our contacts to find that Omer was available and wanted to come to the United States for college,” Kent State coach Rob Senderoff said in a statement. “While he is new to college basketball, Omer has experience as a player and is older. He competes daily and is a natural point guard. He is a welcome addition to our roster.”
