Whitty is a three-star prospect in the class of 2026 and is ranked No. 4 in North Carolina and the 17th-best point guard in the country, according to 27Sports Composite.
Whitty will attempt to lead Christ School to a strong first season in the Nike Elite Youth Basketball Scholastic Conference. The basketball program accepted an invitation to join the conference for the next two seasons, following its third consecutive North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association 4A state championship in 2024.
He is also the second Greenies player to commit to a Division I school. Guard Tyler Jones committed to Albany on Aug. 29.
