The Las Vegas Aces took game 3 on the road.
They now have a 3-0 lead in the WNBA final series against the Phoenix Mercury, but for a minute there, it looked like they might not have gotten Game 3, despite a 17 point lead at one point in the game.
The Phoenix Mercury stormed back late to tie it up at 88 all with 2 minutes left to go, and this really has been the Phoenix Mercury’s calling card so much in the postseason.
It didn’t matter if they were down double digits at any point in any game.
The Mercury continued to find a way and that looked like they might do it again last night.

They played stifling defense in the 4th quarter.
They had an offensive surge led by Kaia Capra and Deanna Bonner.
That is the value of having those kinds of veterans on your team that come up big time and big moments like that.
They combined for 20 of the Mercury’s final 29 points in the 4th quarter.
The Mercury defense contained Asia.
the MVP for a majority of the 4th, but just like superstars do, just like veterans who have been around championship series before, like Asia Wilson has, she delivered the clutchest moment of them all when it mattered the most.
3, not 3, 0.3 seconds left on the clock, and Asia Wilson delivered the game winning jumper to take it 90 to 88, and on top.

Of the clutch shot of the season.
On top of that game winner, Asia Wilson became the first player in WNBA Finals history with consecutive games of 25 points and 10 rebounds.
She finished the night with 34 points and 14 rebounds.
Just think about that stat line for a second.
Oh yeah, by the way, she added 3 blocks along with it.
And she wasn’t alone.
Jackie Young played a great game.
She had 21 points, 9 rebounds.
The Aces as a whole.
Had 9 three-pointers just in the first half alone, so it was not just an Asia Wilson effort, but looking at that stat line right there, there’s a reason why Asia Wilson is MVP and there is a reason why the entire WNBA and this WNBA fan base outside of Phoenix feel so confident and comfortable in the Aces winning yet another championship.
If they do, this will be their 3rd in 4 years, a statement win last night for the Vegas Aces.
