Lisa Bluder did a lot of winning on the court during her 24 years as the head coach of the Iowa women’s basketball team. And now she’s making some winning moves off the court.
With the Hawkeyes, Bluder went 528-254, winning five Big Ten tournament titles in the process and guiding Iowa to a pair of National Championship game appearances. After a year off to enjoy a well-earned retirement, Bluder is coming back to the game, albeit in a different role.

At the 2025 Big Ten men’s basketball media days on Thursday, the Big Ten Network announced that it would have a new analyst joining the team in season to break down Big Ten hoops: Lisa Bluder.
She’ll join Robbie Hummel, Bruce Weber, and Christy Winters Scott as the main basketball analysts for the network. It’s a great opportunity for Bluder, who knows the game of basketball better than most. She’s familiar with most of the Big Ten programs and will be able to break the game down in a way that’s different from other analysts on the network.
Iowa fans will need to make sure they check out the Big Ten Network throughout the college basketball season to see Bluder make her television analyst debut. Hawkeyes supporters wish Bluder the best of luck as she embarks on the next step in her career.
