The Georgia Tech swim teams swept Emory in their crosstown Atlanta battle.
The Georgia Tech women earned a 185.5-111.5 win and the men won 218-81.
In the women’s meet, Georgia Tech started with a win in the 400 medley relay as Vivien Rothwell, Nina Stanisavljevic, Zara Masud and Giovana Reis finished in 3:46.72.
Reis won the 200 free in 1:49.79. Rothwell won the 100 backstroke (55.06). Annabel Smith won the 100 breaststroke (1:03.41) and 200 breast (2:20.14). Masud won the 100 fly (54.67).
Stanisavljevic won the 100 free (51.53) and 50 free in 22.36. Phoebe Wright won the 200 backstroke (1:57.73).
Reis, Stanisavljevic, Anna Hadjiloizou and Jillian Ferrari won the 200 free relay (1:33.74).
Katie McKyton won 1-meter diving with 286.13 points. Elisabeth Rockefeller won 3-meter (294.30).
For the Emory women, sophomore Elodie Mitchell was a standout performer once again as she seized two of the team’s wins on the afternoon. Mitchell lowered her season-best time in the 200 Fly for the win, touching with a NCAA qualifying mark of 2:02.01, before dominating in the 500 Freestyle, winning by close to five seconds at 5:03.28.
The Eagles added two event wins on the women’s slate with senior Morgan Main leading the 1000 freestyle field with time of 10:36.18 and in the 400 IM, classmate Meredith Liu threw down a 4:32.24 for the win.
In the men’s meet, Georgia Tech’s Chris Richardson, Julian Killius, Stephen Jones and Robin Yeboah won the 400 medley relay (3:16.72).
Lukas Vetkoetter won the 500 free in 4:33.30 and the 1000 free in 9:34.59 and the 400 IM (3:59.55).
Jones won the 100 fly (48.982) Vitor Sega won the 200 free (1:38.72). Yeboah won the 50 free (20.47). Richardson won the 100 back in 49.52 and 200 back in 1:50.36. Joao Caballero won the 100 breast (55.71). Berk Ertuck won the 200 fly in 1:48.71. Tobin Uhl won the 200 breast (2:01.83).
Max Fowler won 3-meter diving with 388.35 points and 1-meter (370.28).
Yeboah, Sega, Richardson and Caballero won the 200 free relay in 1:22.68.
Junior Hayden Tupper was one of the headliners for the Emory men in the pool on Saturday as he secured the lone event win with his leading time in the 100 Freestyle, touching first at 46.02. Additionally, classmate McKee Thorsen registered the men’s first NCAA B Cut of the season with his mark of 1:48.80 in the 200 Fly, narrowly coming in second by .09 seconds in a wire-to-wire battle.
