Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese quickly established herself as a breakout star during her rookie season last year. The former LSU Tigers standout, who was selected as the seventh overall pick of the 2024 WNBA Draft, played her way to an All-Star nod in her first season, as well as a runner-up finish for the Rookie of the Year title behind Caitlin Clark of the Indiana Fever.
Reese picked up right where she left off during her sophomore year, producing averages of 14.7 points, a league-leading 12.6 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.5 steals. For a second straight season, the 23-year-old was named an All-Star.

Long before Reese established herself as one of the top frontcourt players in the game, it was Lisa Leslie who was dominating the WNBA. The 53-year-old had an iconic career, which included, among other things, three MVP titles, eight All-Star appearances, two Defensive Player of the Year wins, 12 All-WNBA nods and two championships. In 2015, the Los Angeles Sparks legend was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame.
Apart from being one of the best to ever do it, Leslie is also a staunch supporter of those who have come after her. This includes Reese, who has earned the WNBA legend’s praise on multiple occasions.

“Just the idea that you want to get better, like I love that,” Leslie told Reese in a February episode of the latter’s “Unapologetically Angel” podcast. “For me to hear from you, and see that you’re like, ‘Yes, I want you to work with me, I want you to help me, I want to get better’ — that’s what it’s about.
“The fact that you already have that attitude? You’re going to get better, and I can help you get better. I’m positive.”
This was the case again on Friday after Reese earned her latest honor off the court. This came in the form of being named the 2025 WNBA MVP by LeagueFits, a social channel dedicated to the players’ fashion.

Leslie was among the hundreds of fans who sent congratulatory messages to Reese for her new title.
“❤️It! @angelreese5 Representing for the Tall Barbie’s💕💕💕💕” wrote the former 6-foot-5 center.
LeagueFits recognized Reese for her elite fashion sense. The channel noted her “confidence, originality, and spice she exerts on a daily basis,” both on the court and in the tunnel with her head-turning gameday outfits.
Apart from being the LeagueFits MVP for the 2025 season, the Sky forward was also named part of the All-LeagueFits First Team, alongside Chicago teammate Hailey Van Lith.

Reese will be back doing her thing when the new WNBA season starts in May. She will return with her usual swag and eye-catching ensembles, never failing to capture the attention of her avid supporters.
More importantly, Reese will be looking to lead the Sky to a better season after they finished 10-34 in 2024, the tied for worst in the league with the Dallas Wings, and missed the playoffs for the second consecutive year.
