Appointments have been made by World Rugby for the 2025 November Internationals. A total of 34 test matches will be played and there will also be a sprinkling of non-capped internationals. The appointments do not include officials for the Final Qualification Tournament (repechage) which will include Belgium, Namibia, Samoa and either Brazil or Paraguay.
The complete panel of officials includes twenty-three referees, two of whom are from the Americas. The officials appointed matches are Argentine referees Damián Schneider and Tomás Bertazza. Both are regulars in South America including in Super Rugby Americas.
Schneider will referee Scotland vs USA on Saturday, November 01. The match will be played in Edinburgh with Schneider blowing the whistle and refereeing in English. He will also officiate Spain vs Fiji at the Estadio Ciudad de Málaga in Málaga on Saturday, November 22.
Bertazza has been appointed the uncapped match of Spain v Ireland A on Saturday, November 08. It will take place at the Estadio Ontime Butarque in Leganés, Madrid. The appointment sees a promotion for the Argentine following the 2025 World Rugby u20 Championship. Both this and Spain vs Fiji will be unique experiences for Spain’s players in that the referees speak their language. Bertazza and Schneider both communicate in excellent English in addition to their native Spanish.
