A top Welterweight contender might’ve just been shafted.
No. 2-ranked Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Welterweight Sean Brady will collide with undefeated No. 8-seeded Michael Morales at UFC 322 on Sat., Nov. 15, 2025, inside the iconic Madison Square Garden in New York City. MMA Latinoamérica first reported the matchup, and Home of Fight later confirmed the news with UFC Chief Business Officer Hunter Campbell.
By all accounts, Brady (18-1) seemed to be next in line for a Welterweight title shot after dominating and finishing former champion Leon Edwards earlier this year (watch highlights). That was until the division hit pause when Islam Makhachev vacated his Lightweight title to move up and challenge reigning Welterweight champion Jack Della Maddalena — on the same card.
Now, Brady, riding a three-fight winning streak, takes on one of the riskiest fights in the division against Morales — putting his potential title opportunity on the line.
Morales (18-0) has been flawless so far in the Octagon, winning all six of his UFC bouts. He’s coming off the biggest win of his career after running through Gilbert Burns, scoring a knockout in under four minutes (watch highlights).
The 26-year-old Ecuadorean phenom boasts a 78 percent finish rate with 14 knockouts, and thankfully, he’ll be competing for the second time since 2023.
With the addition of this Welterweight scrap, here is what UFC 322 looks like:
