Tennessee’s 2025-26 men’s basketball season will tipoff Nov. 3 against Mercer at Food City Center.
The 2025-26 men’s basketball season will be the 11th for Tennessee under head coach Rick Barnes. He has compiled a 232–109 (111–66 SEC) record at Tennessee since the 2015-16 season.

The Vols enter their upcoming campaign ranked No. 18 nationally in the preseason AP Poll. Purdue is ranked No. 1. Defending national champion Florida is preseason No. 3, the highest-ranked team from the SEC.
Kentucky (9), Arkansas (14) and Alabama (15) are also ranked ahead of the Vols from the SEC. The entire 2025-26 preseason AP men’s basketball top 25 poll can be viewed here.
Tennessee is slated to host Alabama, Auburn, Kentucky, LSU, Ole Miss, Oklahoma, Texas, Texas A&M and Vanderbilt in league play this season.
The Vols will play SEC road games at Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi State, Missouri, South Carolina and Vanderbilt.
