The 2025-26 college basketball season is almost here as exhibition games are tipping off and with the start of the season in just a few weeks, preseason awards are being handed out.
For the North Carolina Tar Heels, they had one player honored as part of the All-ACC team from last week’s conference media day in Charlotte. And that’s freshman Caleb Wilson.

The forward was the lone Tar Heel to earn a spot on the preseason All-ACC team, landing on the second team as he received 24 total votes. He was also third in the voting for ACC Preseason Rookie of the Year with two votes and seventh in the voting for ACC Preseason Player of the Year.
The top 10 recruit is the headliner for North Carolina’s 2025 recruiting class, which also features Derek Dixon and Isaiah Denis.
The Tar Heels were picked third in the preseason poll behind Duke and Louisville. This comes a day after the team was ranked No. 25 in the AP Top 25 preseason poll.
North Carolina will play an exhibition on October 24th at BYU and then host Winston-Salem State on October 29th before their opener against Central Arkansas on November 3rd.
