Jalen Haynes, a graduate forward for the Cincinnati Bearcats basketball team, has been ruled out indefinitely with an undisclosed lower-body injury, head coach Wes Miller announced Tuesday, Oct. 14.
The announcement was made just prior to the team’s Tip-Off Dinner at Fifth Third Arena, featuring donors.
UC forward Jalen Haynes, a graduate forward from George Mason, has been ruled out indefinitely with an undisclosed lower-body injury.
Haynes, a veteran of 77 career games, was an All-Atlantic 10 First-Team selection last year at George Mason after averaging 14.1 points and 6.9 rebounds per game. For his career, the Fort Lauderdale native has averaged 12.7 points and six boards per contest across stops at Virginia Tech, East Tennessee State and last year with the Patriots.

“The Big Slime” came to the Bearcats via the transfer portal and was scheduled to help their back-to-the-basket post game. He came to UC at 6-foot-8 and 260 pounds.
The Bearcats also lost a post player around this time last year. In September 2024, UC was minus forward Tyler McKinley before the season due to a knee injury. McKinley missed the season but received a medical redshirt and is back for 2025-26.
After exhibitions at Michigan at 6 p.m. Friday and at Arkansas on Oct. 24, the Bearcats open the regular season against Western Carolina at 7 p.m. Nov. 3 at Fifth Third Arena.
