MOUNTAIN BROOK — Alabama basketball guard Latrell Wrightsell Jr. gave his own timeline for a return from injury at SEC Media Day.
On Tuesday, Oct. 14, Wrightsell said his ideal return date would be the season opener against North Dakota on Nov. 3.

However, he noted there’s a “50%” chance of seeing him against Florida State on Thursday. The chances of seeing him play against Furman on Oct. 26?
“About 90%,” Wrightsell smiled.
Coach Nate Oats told media earlier in October that staff has been managing Wrightsell’s load since he was cleared to return for 5-on-5 work.

Wrightsell, now in his sixth year, missed the majority of Alabama‘s run to the Elite Eight with an Achilles tendon injury suffered against Oregon at the Players Era championship last November. Before his season ended, he was making 50% of his shots for 11.5 points per game while averaging 1.8 rebounds and two assists in eight appearances. He is the only remaining piece of the Crimson Tide’s historic Final Four team as the 2025-26 season nears.
