Second-year Tennessee women’s basketball head coach Kim Caldwell took part at media days on Wednesday. She discussed standards within the Lady Vols’ program.

“Anything from we don’t put our hands on our knees when we’re tired,” Caldwell said. “We want to be the hardest-playing team. We work very hard. We want to be in the gym extra outside our practices making sure our individual game is better. We want to take notes when we watch film, take notes on scouts. We want to make sure we’re sitting up straight, paying attention.

“All of those little details. It’s nice I don’t have to be the one every single time we walk into a room to say that. I have six returners that can repeat it and get to it before I do.”

The 2025-26 season will be the second for Tennessee under Caldwell. She guided the Lady Vols to a 24-10 (8-8 SEC) record and advanced to the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 in the 2024-25 basketball season.
