Nebraska quarterback commit throws four touchdowns in victory

A Nebraska quarterback commit had a great showing while leading his team to playoff eligibility. Junior quarterback Trae Taylor was 24-for-30 for 431 yards and four TDs in Carmel Catholic’s 54-14 victory over DePaul College Prep.

The quarterback has thrown for 2,094 yards and 27 touchdowns while leading Carmel to a 5-2 record. Carmel Catholic will be back in action this Friday when they play at Loyola Academy out of Wilmette, IL. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. CT.

Taylor, safety Tory Pittman, wide receiver Jabari Watkins, and offensive tackle Matt Erickson make up Nebraska’s 2027 recruiting class. Rivals ranks the group No. 5 nationally and No. 1 in the Big Ten Conference.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers (5-1, 2-1) retake the field on Friday, Oct. 17, when they travel to Minneapolis to face the Minnesota Golden Gophers. The kickoff time is set for 7 p.m. CT and can be seen on Fox.
