Schedule Released for 2026 Open Water Swimming World Cup

World Aquatics has announced the four stops of the Open Water Swimming World Cup, which will mark the 20th year of the tour. The series will begin with racing in the Red Sea and then shift to Europe for the final three legs. Racing is scheduled to take place between late March and mid-June, with the fields featuring many of the premier open-water swimmers in the world.

The calendar for the World Aquatics Open Water Swimming World Cup:

  • March 27-28 – Somabay, Egypt
  • April 24-25 – Ibiza, Spain
  • May 1-2 – Golfo Aranci, Italy
  • June 20-21 – Setubal, Portugal

The fourth stop on the tour, Setubal, is always intriguing and captures the attention of the athletes due to it being one of the more strategic events. Breaking waves and currents often call for the swimmers to adjust their gameplans.

“You have to race and react with what the others are doing,” said Hungarian Kristof Rasovszky of the Setubal stop. “Of course, you have to catch up in the current, find your place in the waves and your place in the pack. Setubal is pure racing.”

The 2025 World Cup champions were recently crowned, with Italy’s Ginevra Tadeucci capturing the women’s title and Frenchman Logan Fontaine claiming the men’s championship.
