Texas A&M’s 45-42 win over Arkansas wasn’t a turning point for the Aggies’ 2025 campaign. Still, it further proved that the offense is one of the best units in the SEC, led by starting quarterback Marcel Reed and transfer wide receivers KC Concepcion and Mario Craver, and a deep running back room that has looked solid after losing senior running back Le’Veon Moss for the next two or three games.
Last season, under head coach Mike Elko and offensive coordinator Collin Klein, Texas A&M led the SEC for most of the season in scoring, even without a wide receiver rotation that scared opposing defenses. In contrast, Le’Veon Moss, who was lost for the season against South Carolina after seven games, was the only viable threat with zero depth behind him. This placed Marcel Reed, who was thrust into the starting lineup, in a hole.

This offseason, after landing Conepcion and Craver from the transfer portal, paired with the return of running back Reuben Owens, Amari Daniels, and EJ Smith, and, most importantly, a veteran offensive line that has since dominated in the trenches this season, Collin Klein has more than enough to work with, leading to a vast improvement, resulting in the Aggies’ 7-0 start.
After defeating Arkansas 45-42 on Saturday night, Texas A&M Athletics Communications revealed that, for the first time since the 2021 season, Texas A&M’s offense has scored at least 40 points four times against UTSA (42), Utah State (44), Notre Dame (41), and Arkansas (45), which, outside of being impressive, further proves that Marcel Reed, who has thrown 1,770 yards, 15 touchdowns, and run for 241 yards and four touchdowns, has lived up to his hefty preseason expectations thus far.
However, we can’t downplay the impact of KC Concepcion (500 yards, 6 TDs) and Mario Craver (668, 4 TDs), who have combined for 1,168 yards and 10 touchdowns in seven games.
