To determine the total pay packages of general managers or top front-office personnel at schools in the Atlantic Coast, Big 12, Big Ten and Southeastern conferences, USA TODAY Sports requested contracts and related documents from all schools that are subject to open-records disclosure or must make some type of disclosure about employees’ pay.

Eighteen schools or athletics departments are private or are public schools covered under state law exempting them from releasing full compensation data on these employees.

A not available (–) in the chart denotes schools that are private or did not release the information.

Listings are based on employees with the title of football “general manager.” For schools without a designated “general manager,” the data are for person determined, through contact with schools, to be the highest-ranking football front-office employee or closest equivalent to a general manager regarding player compensation and roster management. Georgia declined to identify any one employee as having this role.
