SEC coaches voted Texas to finish first in the SEC during the 2025-26 season, with South Carolina women’s basketball right behind at No. 2.
The league announced the order of finish as well as preseason awards on Oct. 22, one week after the SEC revealed the media voted the Gamecocks to win the league title in 2025-26.

Coach Dawn Staley had two players on All-SEC preseason first team in sophomore forward Joyce Edwards and senior guard Ta’Niya Latson. Coaches can’t vote for their own team or players.
Longhorns forward Madison Booker was voted Preseason Player of the Year. She won that award last season. South Carolina faced Texas four times last year and went 3-1, with the last win in the Final Four.
