The Indiana swimming and diving team showed its depth with victories over Kentucky Wednesday, Oct. 22, inside the Lancaster Aquatic Center in Lexington.
The No. 2 Indiana men defeated Kentucky 199-101. The No. 9 Indiana women beat the Wildcats 187-5-112.5.
Toby Barnett and Noel each tallied three individual victories, Barnett sweeping the men’s breaststroke events and Raekwon Noel the backstroke races. Ella Roselli swept the diving boards, and Indiana diving totaled 12 NCAA zone qualifying scores.
In the women’s meet, Indiana’s Liberty Clark won the 100 butterfly (54.48) and the 200 IM (1:59.94). Mya DeWitt won the 100 backstroke (53.78). Luci Gutierrez won the 1,000 freestyle (10:14.46) and 500 freestyle (5:00.09). Grace Hoeper took first in the 200 freestyle (1:50.16) and 100 freestyle (50.33). Kristina Paegle won the 50 freestyle (23.07).
Ella Roselli won the 3-meter (306.00), 1-meter (324.08) diving events for Indiana.
DeWitt, Clark, Sze Yeo and Paegle won the 200 medley relay (1:41.20). Hoeper, Amelia Bray, Paegle and Macky Hodges won the 400 free (3:21.83).
Kentucky’s Olivia Stewart won the 100 breaststroke in 1:04.40. Grace Frericks won the 200 back (1:57.44). Billie Serratt won the 200 fly (2:01.81). Sarah Shaffer won the 200 breaststroke (2:17.78).
In the men’s meet, Indiana’s Toby Barnett won the 100 breaststroke (54.45) and 200 breaststroke (1:59.01), 200 IM (1:48.49). Brandon Fleck won the 200 freestyle (1:37.90). Josh Hedberg won 1-meter (344.55). Raekwon Noel won the 100 backstroke (46.96), 200 backstroke (1:45.22) and 100 butterfly (47.47). Maxwell Weinrich took 3-meter (390.68).
Noel, Travis Gulledge, Andrew Shackell and Dylan Smiley won the 200 medley relay (1:27.66). Smiley, Vidar Carlbaum, Cooper McDonald and Kai Van Westering won the 400 free relay (2:56.14).
Kentucky’s Carson Hick won the 1000 free in 9:01.65. and 500 free (4:24.53). Ryan Merani won the 200 fly in 1:47.26. Falemana Tuufui won the 50 free (19.84) and 100 free (44.00).
