Mercedes Moné wanted a fight—and now she’s got one.
On the October 22, 2025 episode of AEW Dynamite, Kris Statlander officially accepted Moné’s challenge for a match at AEW Full Gear. The moment came during a backstage segment, where Statlander referenced her past wins over Toni Storm and made it clear that she’s not the same competitor Moné may remember.
With just one statement, the match was set: Statlander vs. Moné at Full Gear on November 22, 2025, in Newark, New Jersey.
The challenge was first issued at AEW WrestleDream, after Moné won her 11th career title in a controversial match against Mina Shirakawa—surpassing Ultimo Dragon’s long-standing championship record. Backstage before the main event that night, a fired-up Moné called out Statlander and made her intentions clear.
AEW hadn’t confirmed the bout at the time, but Statlander’s acceptance now locks in what could be one of the promotion’s most important women’s matches this year. Moné continues her dominant run as TBS Champion, while Statlander steps back into title contention with something to prove.
