Winless Scarlets will go into Saturday’s United Rugby Championship (URC) game against Sharks in Durban boosted by returning locks Jake Ball and Sam Lousi, as well as Wales squad wing Tom Rogers.
Another Wales international, prop Kemsley Mathias, also returns from injury as Dwayne Peel’s side face a team only three points and two places above them in the table.
The visitors are bottom of the table and like Sharks, coached by star back row Taine Plumtree’s father John, have yet to taste success.
Scarlets lost at Lions last weekend and Peel is looking forward to being able to bring the experience of Lousi and Ball into the fray after loan players Harvey Cuckson and Alex Groves made debuts in Johannesburg.
“That’s four guys we’ve got back, pretty big players for us,” said Peel, who remains without a host of players including influential flanker Josh Macleod.
After Saturday’s game, Scarlets host Glasgow Warriors in their next URC game on Saturday, 29 November (19:45 GMT), the same day Wales’ autumn programme ends against South Africa (15:10 GMT).
