In what should be one of the best exhibition games on the NCAA preseason schedule, the No. 9-ranked Kentucky Wildcats host the top-ranked Purdue Boilermakers on Friday night.

Fletcher Loyer and the Boilermakers have great expectations for the 2025-26 season, after a March Madness run to the Sweet 16, which ended in a heartbreaking 62-60 loss to eventual tournament runner-up Houston.
Purdue got better in the offseason, landing former South Dakota State center Oscar Cluff and former North Florida wing Liam Murphy. They now have the shortest odds to win the 2025 National Championship.
The Wildcats also fell in the 2024 Sweet 16 — in the same Midwest Region as Purdue, no less — with Mark Pope’s squad losing to Tennessee. Kentucky has its sights set on a much deeper run this time around, and the sportsbooks seem to like them. The ‘cats have the fifth-shortest odds to win it all in 2026.
