India Playing XI vs Australia- 3rd ODI, India Tour of Australia 2025:
Openers: Shubman Gill (c), Rohit Sharma
India would back themself to put on a strong performance in the third game of the ongoing ODI series against Australia.
The Shubman Gill-led side would be happy with how the batting lineup responded after losing a couple of wickets early in their previous game, as compared to the performance in the opening game, and would want it to keep up the good work.

Having said that, there are some areas of concern for the Men in Blue as far as batting is concerned, and one of them is the contribution of the team’s middle order, which failed to convert the start that they got into a substantial score.
The former ODI World Cup winners will have to start from scratch in the next game and would hope for the opening pair of captain Shubman Gill and former captain Rohit Sharma to do their job.
In addition to batting as a pair, both batters would also wish to score runs individually as well, which Rohit did courtesy of an important half-century in the last game.
Middle-order batsmen and all-rounders: Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Axar Patel, KL Rahul (wk), Washington Sundar
If we talk about the performance of India’s middle order in the previous fixture, it was a story of some good bowling from the opposition, coupled with some needless shot selection, which will have to be corrected.
The middle, which includes experienced batters like Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, and Nitish Kumar Reddy, failed to capitalize on the good start that India had courtesy of fifties from Rohit Sharma and Shreyas Iyer.
Kohli got out for a duck for the second consecutive time in the series, while KL Rahul received a good ball from Adam Zampa. The duo would like to end the series by making a significant contribution with the bat.
Other than Kohli and Rahul, the responsibility will be on all-rounders Axar Patel and Washington Sundar to give a strong finish to the innings.
Bowlers: Kuldeep Yadav, Prasidh Krishna, Arshdeep Singh, Mohammed Siraj
As far as the bowling is concerned, for starters, they would want the batters to post an above-par total on the board to give them something to bowl at.
If the batters can do their job to the best of their abilities, the bowling attack is skillful enough to restrict the opposition from scoring freely.
However, merely getting runs on the board won’t guarantee an easy passage towards a win. The likes of Arshdeep Singh, Prasidh Krishna, and Mohammed Siraj will have to pick wickets in the first ten overs.
The spinners Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, and Washington Sundar will take matters into their hands and keep the Australian batters in check in the middle phase of the innings.
