ALLIANCE — Mount Union stands alone atop the Ohio Athletic Conference football race again.
The Purple Raiders beat Ohio Northern 33-7 on Saturday, Oct. 25.to remain undefeated. Mount Union handed the Polar Bears their first conference loss and can win another outright OAC title with victories in the last three games.

Mount Union (7-0, 5-0 OAC) led 33-0 before Ohio Northern (5-2, 5-1 OAC) scored its only touchdown in the fourth quarter.

“I think we played excellent complimentary football,” Purple Raiders head coach Geoff Darrt said. “That’s what we talked about all week. Being great on first and second down, on offense and defense. Great team win. Really excited for our guys.”
Freshman quarterback Mikey Maloney finished 15-of-21 for 187 yards and three touchdowns. He has thrown multiple touchdown passes in every game this season.
Kayden Minner ran for more than 100 yards for the third straight game. His 77-yard TD run was the 10th longest in program history.

Both of tight end Wyatt Stiehl’s receptions were touchdowns. Five of his six catches this season have been TDs.
Brandon Bowden had a career-high eight tackles to lead the defense.
Cole Norris throws two touchdown passes in Walsh win over Thomas More
NORTH CANTON — Cole Norris threw for 270 yards and two touchdowns to help power Walsh past winless Thomas More 41-20 in Great Midwest Athletic Conference action.
Norris’ 2-yard TD pass to Brady Gooding and Eddie Nichols’ 90-yard fumble recovery for a TD in the third quarter helped the Cavaliers (6-2, 4-2) take control. Dalys Jett also caught a 53-yard TD pass from Norris.
Walsh’s Dante Walker rushed for two touchdowns.
