Anyone who knows anything about college football and has been paying attention this season has to admit that the Indiana Hoosiers are for real. After not quite measuring up against the elite teams last year, head coach Curt Cignetti seems to have addressed the gap.
Indiana is now 8-0 and won at Oregon a few weeks back to push back on the narrative that it can only beat up on less physically gifted teams. The Hoosiers are now ranked No. 2 in both major polls and just polished off a 56-6 whitewashing of a UCLA team that had been playing very well.

That success — though short-lived for a program that has more losses than any in the FBS — can maybe go to a fan’s head based on a short interview Fox College Football conducted after the win over the Bruins Saturday. Fox’s creative team caught a few of the Indiana fans outside the stadium and asked if they believed “Indiana could take Ohio State.”
I guess, as you would expect from a pro-Indiana crowd, the majority of the fans believed that, yes, indeed, the Hoosiers could beat OSU. There were a few in the crowd who signaled otherwise or had their doubts, but the overwhelming majority was bullish on the Hoosiers’ chances against the Buckeyes.
Get a look at how those responses played out below.
The way things are going — and take nothing for granted — Indiana fans might get their chance, but it won’t be until the Big Ten Championship game in Indy. The two do not meet in the regular season.
