Tennessee played its only exhibition game on Wednesday ahead of its 2025-26 basketball regular season. The Lady Vols defeated Columbus State, 148-48, at Food City Center.
The 2025-26 season is the second for the Lady Vols under head coach Kim Caldwell. She discussed the exhibition matchup after the game.

“I think we got a lot of good film tonight,” Caldwell said. “We, obviously, found some things that we desperately need to work on and fix before we go to N.C. State, so that was the whole point of it. I was happy that our eight new ones could be in the arena, and see the crowd, and kind of get the jitters out.
“I’m thankful to Columbus State for making the trip and making us better.”
Tennessee set a record for points scored in an exhibition game in program history. Seven players scored 10-plus points against Columbus State.
Mia Pauldo, Nya Robertson, Ruby Whitehorn and Jersey Wolfenbarger led Tennessee is scoring with 18 points each. The Lady Vols scored 76 bench points, 70 points in the paint, 71 points off turnovers, 38 second chance points and 49 fast break points.

Tennessee recorded 30 steals in the contest.
The Lady Vols will open their regular season Nov. 4 against North Carolina State in the Ro Greensboro Invitational. The season opening matchup will be contested in Greensboro, North Carolina (4 p.m. EST, ESPN2).
