“Sin City” has a banger on its hands.
Top 15 Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Featherweights Steve Garcia and David Onama collide in the main event of UFC Vegas 110 this weekend (Sat., Nov. 1, 2025) inside the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada.
On paper, Garcia vs. Onama has “firefight” written all over it. Both men are forward-pressure finishers who come to trade, and while this is a mixed martial arts (MMA) fight — not a kickboxing match — Onama says he has no plans to wrestle the surging “Mean Machine.”
“The fight is going to stay on the feet for me,” Onama told MMAmania.com during UFC Vegas 110 media day (watch here). “I don’t know what his game plan is, but yeah, most of the time we’ll be standing.”
Onama does have four submission wins on his record and insists he’s ready wherever the fight goes, but he envisions ending Garcia’s night on the feet.
“It’s going to be a scrap — I’m planning for it to be a scrap,” Garcia said. “For him to say he won’t take me down, uhhh, let’s just say there are chances, okay? This is MMA, so I can’t [take what he says as fact]. I’ll be ready for anything he brings to the table.”
When asked if that was a subtle way of saying he expects to make Onama shoot first, Garcia didn’t give an inch.
“You can take that however you want to take it. That’s on you,” Garcia said. “At the end of the day, I’m going to test his chin and he’s going to try and do the same thing — it’s what we do, right? If someone says, ‘Oh, I’m going to knock you out,’ I’m like, ‘So you weren’t before?’ We’re going to do this. We agreed to it.”
