ATLANTA — South Carolina women’s basketball has one final chance to shake off some rust before its 2025-26 season officially begins.
The Gamecocks play North Carolina in an exhibition game on Oct. 30 at 6 p.m. ET in State Farm Arena. It’s a doubleheader event, with a men’s game between Auburn and Memphis after.

The exhibition game will not be available to watch on TV or stream online, but is available to listen to via live audio according to South Carolina.
Coach Dawn Staley is 5-4 against the Tar Heels, who were ranked No. 11 in the USA TODAY preseason coaches poll. South Carolina is No. 2.
South Carolina had its first exhibition game against Anderson, a Division II school on Oct. 24. It won 112-31. The Gamecocks opens the season on Nov. 3 at 7 p.m. ET against Grand Canyon in Colonial Life Arena.

Oct. 30 will mark the first exhibition game between the two Carolina schools but the programs have played 22 times. The series is tied 11-11, with South Carolina taking the last four wins.
In the 2023-24 season, the teams met twice, once in Chapel Hill and once in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. The Gamecocks won 65-58 then 88-41, finishing that season 38-0 with the program’s third national championship.
