by

Iowa women’s basketball returns on Thursday night. After a strong close to last season, Iowa captured its 31st all-time NCAA Tournament berth and its seventh consecutive tournament trip.

The Hawkeyes ended with a 23-11 (10-8 Big Ten) mark in Jan Jensen’s first season at the helm. Iowa enters the 2025-26 campaign with the No. 23 ranking and a roster that features preseason All-Big Ten selection Hannah Stuelke. The senior forward averaged 12.7 points and 7.7 rebounds per game in 2024-25 and is one of 20 Hawkeyes all-time to have amassed 1,100-plus points and 600-plus rebounds in their career.

Iowa boasts a roster that returns guards Taylor McCabe and Kylie Feuerbach, a pair of guards with plenty of respective starting experience. The Hawkeyes added to their roster with talented transfers in guard Chazadi “Chit-Chat” Wright from Georgia Tech and Emely Rodriguez from UCF.

Iowa also signed five-star guard Addie Deal, four-star guard Journey Houston and four-star center Layla Hays in its 2025 class to join a nucleus that also includes players such as Taylor Stremlow, Ava Heiden and Teagan Mallegni.
