Iowa women’s basketball releases intro video for 2025-26 season

by

As Iowa women’s basketball prepares for its exhibition clash against Ashland on Thursday, Oct. 30 from Carver-Hawkeye Arena, the Hawkeyes revealed their new intro video for the 2025-26 season just a few hours before tip-off.

The 1:36 video is narrated by Hawkeyes legend and 2025 WNBA champion Megan Gustafson. Gustafson highlights some of the historic figures who have worn the black and gold in years past before shifting focus to the current group of talent assembled on the 2025-26 squad.

After finishing the 2024-25 campaign on a hot streak en route to the second round of the NCAA Tournament, Iowa enters year two under head coach Jan Jensen with a talented group hoping for a rise to future dominance. Iowa brings in a freshman class of Addie Deal, Layla Hays, and Journey Houston to supplement an experienced roster led by senior forward Hannah Stuelke, who was a preseason All-Big Ten Team selection.

According to ESPN’s preseason bracketology projections, the Hawkeyes are predicted to be one of the Big Ten’s most impressive teams this year and will undoubtedly be a force to be reckoned with as the campaign progresses.

Iowa’s exhibition clash against Ashland is scheduled for a 6:30 p.m. CT tipoff on Thursday night and it will stream exclusively on B1G+. The Hawkeyes’ regular-season opener is on Nov. 3 against the Southern Jaguars at 6:30 p.m. CT and that contest will also stream on B1G+
