Following back-to-back years with Caleb Love serving as the team’s leading scorer, Arizona heads into the 2025-26 season with only one player who averaged double figures a year ago. That’s Jaden Bradley, who will again be a big part of the Wildcats’ offense, but will the senior be able to elevate his game to where he leads the team in points per game?
Many Arizona fans think that’s possible, but not more than at least one other player.

We asked our readers who they thought would be Arizona’s top scorer this season and freshman guard Brayden Burries came out on top.
Burries and fellow freshman Koa Peat are expected to start for Arizona in Monday’s opener in Las Vegas against defending NCAA champion Florida. Only one freshman has previously started games under Tommy Lloyd, but future NBA lottery pick Carter Bryant only did so five times last season.
Bryant ended up averaging 6.5 points per game in 2024-25, which is the best by a freshman during the Lloyd era. The last time a freshman led the UA in scoring was 2017-18 when Deandre Ayton averaged 20.1 per game.
The freshman school record is 24 per game, by Coniel Norman in 1972-73.
