Several Indiana Fever players took on other basketball jobs amid the WNBA offseason. Kelsey Mitchell, Lexie Hull, Aliyah Boston and Aari McDonald are suiting up in Unrivaled in January 2026, while Sydney Colson, Odyssey Sims, Brianna Turner and Bree Hall are set to participate in the Athletes Unlimited Pro Basketball league.
Meanwhile, the likes of Aerial Powers and Shey Peddy took their talents overseas and are currently playing in Turkey with the same basketball club: Canakkale Belediyespor.

Unfortunately, Powers — who joined Indiana late in the 2025 season as a hardship contract player — suffered a finger injury while playing in the Turkish Women’s Basketball League.

Powers revealed as much in a post on her Instagram Stories, even showing what her finger looked like.
“Y’all, we had a game today, and I messed up my finger more than it’s already messed up,” Powers said in the video she posted.
“Look at this. Look at this. Aah!” she exclaimed while showing her swollen right index finger.

As the Fever guard mentioned, she sustained the injury during Canakkale Belediyespor’s game against Fenerbahce on Saturday. Powers recorded 26 points, 10 rebounds and six assists in their 103-81 loss.
Powers didn’t mention the severity of the issue or whether she will miss a game as a result. However, it certainly wouldn’t be surprising if her team gives her some time off, especially considering that the injury is to her shooting hand.
Based on her Instagram video, though, Powers appears to be in good spirits, so there shouldn’t be any immediate concern about her health.

Powers is a free agent after signing a rest-of-season contract with the Fever in 2025. It remains to be seen if Indiana will bring her back, but after averaging 9.0 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.4 assists, she should have a number of suitors interested in her services.
