Iowa’s 2025-26 women’s college basketball season officially tips off tonight with a date against the Southern Jaguars.
After securing a seventh consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance last season, Iowa heads into the second season of the Jan Jensen era. The Hawkeyes are ranked No. 23 in the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll to begin the season and are anchored by star senior forward Hannah Stuelke.

Stuelke was recognized as a preseason All-Big Ten Team selection. The 6-foot-2 forward was also named to the preseason Naismith Trophy Watch List and the Katrina McClain Power Forward Watch List.

Where to watch Iowa women’s basketball vs. Southern
Iowa hosts Southern and the game will stream exclusively on B1G+. Fans can purchase a monthly pass for $12.99 or an annual pass for $89.99. Teagan Mallegni on pregame availability report
Iowa rolled in its exhibition contest against Ashland, winning, 104-63. The Hawkeyes enjoyed a number of strong performances, but Iowa also sustained a pair of injury scares.
Sophomore guards Teagan Mallegni and Chazadi Wright both exited with injuries. Afterwards, coach Jensen said that Mallegni had sustained an ankle injury and Wright was dealing with cramps.
In its initial availability report, Mallegni is listed as “questionable.”
