Paige Bueckers is hoping her second WNBA season produces a few more wins than her first.

Despite garnering an All-Star nod and near-unanimity in Rookie of the Year voting, Bueckers and the Wings won only 10 games, which led to Dallas dismissing head coach Chris Koclanes after one season.

To replace Koclanes, the Wings have hired longtime South Florida coach Jose Fernandez, one of the most respected coaches in the NCAA. But Dallas is intent on adding more All-Star-level talent to supplement its Bueckers-led young core.

And some fans think that Bueckers herself may be lending a hand to the recruitment drive, following a sly message to a fellow 2025 draftee.

Is Paige recruiting Sonia Citron?

Behind Bueckers, Washington Mystics guard Sonia Citron was arguably the best rookie in the WNBA last year. Citron arrived in the W following a standout NCAA career at Notre Dame, and she quickly became the Mystics’ most complete player.

Citron’s shooting, rebounding and defensive ability from the guard position make her a fit in practically any backcourt — which hasn’t been lost on Bueckers, who took the opportunity to send Citron a little message on the No. 3 overall pick’s latest Instagram post.

“Like Texas huh?” Bueckers wrote to Citron, who is dating Dallas Cowboys linebacker Marist Liufau.
